Banjo is a 5 month old male whippet x. He is a typical puppy, full of fun and games. Banjo has a broken foot but his cast is due to come off in a few weeks and it should not give him any long term problems other than he will be a little flat footed.
Banjo is completely deaf but this is proving no obstacle to him and he is a fast learner and is doing very with some training methods for deaf dogs. He is already almost fully house trained. He will stand at the back door and scratch to go out. Banjo gets on great with other dogs and needs a home with other dogs for company. He is a typical bouncy pup so will need to live with dogs who are happy to play or who will tolerate puppy antics.
As he is not yet fully vaccinated he has not been out for walks but his fosterer is doing some lead work with him and he is getting better. Banjo would not been suitable to live in a home with young children or one where children visit regularly due to his deafness.
He is a sweet, very friendly boy who loves to cuddle up with whoever wants a cuddle! Banjo has not been cat tested as yet but given his age we feel he would be suitable to live with cats. He is not completely happy in a crate. He will go in to eat but is not very happy to stay there so crating him when out or at night may not be an option.
Banjo needs a home with other dogs, no children and someone around most of the day who can keep him company and continue his training. Although his deafness needs to be taken into consideration by any new owners when it comes to training and him being off lead etc. we don’t feel he needs to be treated any differently because of it.
Banjo will not be ready to go to a new home for another few weeks until his foot is given the all clear and he is neutered but we hope that his new family could come to visit him in his foster home in the Meath area a few times before he goes to live with them so he can get to know them. Home visit applies and any garden must be completely secure.
